Cancer
With its high prevalence and mortality rate, cancer ranks among the world's most costly and fatal diseases. Researchers and clinicians have made tremendous technological advances in understanding the basis and treatment of many forms of cancer and through these advances, numerous biomarkers continue to be discovered. These biomarkers are driving the development of urgently needed diagnostics and therapeutics for the world's cancer patients.
LabNow and it's partners in the McDevitt Laboratory are actively developing a number of saliva tests for automated oral fluid-based cancer diagnostic devices and various cancers in women. Using a number of cancer biomarkers the LabNow assay system may be used in dental offices during routine exams to detect early forms of oral cancer, or in tandem with existing well-woman exam practices to provide a more detailed snapshot of the patient's
health.
Proof of concept work has been completed on several important cancer diagnostic applications including:
- Oral cancer
- Breast cancer
- Cervical cancer
- Ovarian cancer
LabNow is actively seeking development partnerships to commercialize cancer diagnostic markers for the indications described above.
